A Hilarious, Irreverent Masterpiece – The Book of Mormon at the King’s Theatre, Glasgow
If you’re looking for a musical that is equal parts outrageous, side-splittingly funny, and surprisingly heartfelt, The Book of Mormon delivers in spades. Created by South Park masterminds Trey Parker and Matt Stone, alongside Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, Frozen), this show is a riotous satire that takes aim at everything from religion to pop culture—with no punches pulled.
The story follows two mismatched Mormon missionaries, Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, as they embark on their mission to Uganda. What unfolds is a chaotic, laugh-out-loud journey filled with sharp wit, jaw-dropping musical numbers, and moments of unexpected sincerity. The humour is bold, sometimes shocking, but always brilliantly executed.
The cast at the King’s Theatre is phenomenal, bringing boundless energy to every scene. Adam Bailey as Elder Price and Sam Glen as Elder Cunningham are a perfect duo, balancing absurdity with charm. Nyah Nish shines as Nabulungi, delivering a standout performance that adds depth to the comedy
From the moment the curtain rises, The Book of Mormon keeps the audience in stitches. The choreography is slick, the songs are irresistibly catchy, and the satire is razor-sharp. It’s not for the easily offended, but if you appreciate clever, irreverent humour, this is a must-see

It was the first time seeing this musical and the first half didn't do anything for me. I seriously considered leaving at the interval as I didn't care what happened next and I could have sneaked out unobserved. Luckily for me, I stayed and found the second half much more interesting.
